Criteria
Applications will be based on the following criteria:
o Must be involved in community service activities, provide a resume detailing activities.
o GPA must be a minimum of a C (2.0) or higher.
o The Promoting Joy 24/7 Scholarship Fund, supports students accepted to any accredited college or recognized post high school technical programs and vocational schools. All rising students in the DMV as well as any participant of the bi-annual art/essay contests are eligible to apply.
o The student is required to have at least a 2.0 GPA and has performed community service. The applicant has applied to any accredited vocational or technical program, any accredited 2-year community or 4-year college.
o Acceptance must be within the application year. Must include (2) letters of recommendations: one from high School guidance counselor and one from a teacher. Applicant must be accepted by an accredited institution.
Top priority consideration is given to students who have performed community service.:

o Must include a 2 paragraph statement on: “my accomplishments to qualify for this scholarship.” Application must be submitted by 4/3/2024.
o Only undergraduate studies applications will be accepted. Scholarship criteria should be reviewed yearly by the appointed scholarship committee.
o Qualifying applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee based on the criteria listed above. Scholarship award amounts and recipients will be based on the availability of funds acquired by:
1) donations - 100%
2) fundraising activities:
- includes a portion (50%) collected from the bi-annual Art/Essay Contest is donated towards the Scholarship Fund
- a portion (50%) of the Membership fees from Walker & Associates/promotingjoy247.com. The scholarship committee will screen all applications and the selected applicants will be notified in writing by the scholarship committee chairperson at: Promotingjoyfund.org
