About
The Walker & Associates Scholarship Fund was birthed in 2018, to honor I.C. Norcom High School graduate, the late Frederick L. Walker - Class of '42. Frederick Walker was a compassionate encourager and born Entrepreneur. The Fund donated to potential graduates at I.C. Norcom High School. The Walker & Associates Scholarship Fund was not a 501(c)3 fund. In 2020, the late Mary E. Walker - Class of '47 was added however for the school year 2020 -21 the Fund was not promoted and no funds were distributed. Mary Walker was gifted as a beautician and was indeed beautiful.
For the 2021-23 year, the Scholarship Fund was renamed the Promoting Joy 24/7 Scholarship Fund. The fund is open and available to support rising students in the DMV as well as any student anywhere who has participated in any of the bi-annual art/essay contests. 501(c) 3 status was applied and is currently pending approval.
